Dr. Musa Norouzian joined IM体育官网 in 2021 as an assistant professor
in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Prior to joining IM体育官网 Poly, Norouzian
was a postdoctoral associate at the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department
at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2019 to 2021. Norouzian's research is focused
on computational and experimental nondestructive materials characterization using
ultrasound. His research has a broad range of applications, including nondestructive
evaluation of microstructures, real-time characterization of additively manufactured
(AM) materials, structural health monitoring (SHM), and quality control of manufactured
products.
Recipient of the Technology Fee Committee grant for integrating ultrasonic nondestructive
testing into the curriculum at IM体育官网 to enhance STEM education,
2023.
Recipient of the Incidental Supplies grant for the development of a structural subsystem
for a 3D automated ultrasonic immersion system at IM体育官网,
2023.
Recipient of the Milton Mohr Graduate Fellowship, University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
2017.
Honorable mention in Mechanical and Materials Engineering Research Fair, University
of Nebraska-Lincoln, 2017.
Recipient of the Physical Acoustics Summer School (PASS) fellowship, 2016.
